What a novel idea! Why is it that the supposed "greatest nation on earth", The USA, has become infamous for its overflowing masses of insane, homeless, homicidal or violent and substance-addicted individuals?

I'll tell you why. Because the medical profession doesn't know how to treat the minds of their patients. They leave that to psychiatrists, psychologists and counselors who really don't cure anything but merely help the patient to cope with the unsolved problem by the employment of one suppressive therapy or another. Lame. And not good enough. Not even close. Too expensive. Too complicated. Not scientific. And not effective.

The responsible healer is in charge of all aspects of a patient's health and should not be shunting that person here and there to this organization and that individual for expensive, time-consuming and largely ineffective window-dressing services designed to get the patient "off the doctor's back" so that he or she can continue to see a patient every ten minutes and increase profits for him or herself, the hospital, the insurance company, the drug company and the HMO. This system of "medicine with blinders on" where no one practitioner has a complete and holistic view and treatment plan for the patient is unscientific, wasteful and ineffective. Sometimes, adjunctive services and treatments are necessary, but in the great majority of cases the mental and emotional state of the patient can easily be handled by their primary health care professional if they know how to use homeopathic medicines properly.

One of the many reasons that Homeopathy is scientific is that it treats the whole person: mind, emotions and body together. And all with one remedy at a time. They can even be used together with allopathic medicine in certain exceptional circumstances. Pragmatism is required in medicine and not fanaticism. I still think it is best for the patient to only have one medicine at a time; however, the limited knowledge and skill level in Classical Homeopathy for most practitioners may necessitate an allopathic treatment combined with a homeopathic one, at first or when there is an unrelated physical trauma and a unbalanced mental state at the same time. And by allopathic treatment I mean any therapy that embraces the Law of Contraries (or opposites) as its principle doctrine of therapy. Since homeopathic remedies act on the biodynamic level and allopathic remedies act on the biochemical level of the patient, there would be less drug interaction if there were one homeopathic and one allopathic medicine given together.

For example, there is no point in giving a homeopathic remedy for a trauma wound that is unrelated to the mental symptoms which can easily be treated with allopathic medication when the more urgent issue for the patient's overall health is their mental symptoms, although they are frequently not aware of it. If you waste time treating the physical affliction with homeopathy and fail to give the mental remedy, then you may altogether miss your chance to give it, ever! The patient may never come back and may go through life with an increasingly severe and/or dangerous mental disorder which both ruins the patient's life and detrimentally affects society as a whole. So in such a case, I would agree that two remedies at a time would be more scientific and in the best interests of both the patient and society; however, never two homeopathic medicines at one time, unless the patient is near death and you are unsure as to which remedies may help save their life and bring them out of danger.

Notwithstanding our disgraceful neglect of the poor and weak, who have no political or financial influence which might induce anyone with means to worry about them, the sheer fact of the situation is that doctors see patients as machines--as Frankensteinian conglomerates of parts-- and not as integrated, holistic beings. More often than not the doctor will admonish the patient for the expression of or complaints about mental and emotional symptoms. The very frequently heard complaint is, "My doctor just snapped at me and said 'It is all in my head!'" This is simply unacceptable and is a perfect example of the lack of synthetic knowledge the average GP possesses. This is the 21st century and tremendous healing powers such as Homeopathy are available to any healer who takes the time to learn how to use them to benefit Mankind. And if the medical systems are closed to these healing resources, then they should be opened up to them, regardless of vested interests.

Medicine should not be about politics, profits or dogma but about healing. Patients who accept such comments will remain at the mercy of such unskilled practitioners, since they are allowing it by accepting such intimidating behavior and they therefore become, by default, the victims of their practitioner's ignorance as well as their own. I've never heard a more untrue statement than that frequently heard cry of the victimized: "I have no choice!" One always has a choice! Patients must demand better treatment methods and educate themselves about them. Medical schools must open several departments of holistic medicine with requirements for students to specialize in at least one and to minor in another. Practitioners of all specializations must still be taught how to understand the entire patient and view them as a whole being and not a collection of parts like some machine that runs on a fuel of blood fortified with sugars, proteins, oxygen and so forth. As a result of this type of medical perception of patients, their mental and emotional states suffer from lack of therapy at the expense of their physical body because doctors refuse to take the time to learn how to heal in a holistic way. If this were taught and practiced, there would be much less mental illness in the world and people would be much healthier on all levels.

This must change for the health of the nation and to provide more effective and cost-effective health care. Homeopathy is one of the most cost-effective therapeutic systems which, with its great healing powers, eliminates the danger and necessity of many invasive, destructive and expensive procedures. In this wealthy country blessed with a huge economy and vast natural resources we provide no universal health care insurance for the underprivileged and it is therefore even more imperative to effectively treat these troubled, homeless and poor people when they do seek medical treatment (usually in emergency rooms, at great cost) with the correct homeopathic constitutional remedy in addition to attending to their chief complaint. In addition, these therapies must be covered in health care plans for those fortunate enough to be able to afford them. In a very short time, we will reap the benefits of such advanced and humane treatment protocols in the reversal of much homelessness, violent behaviors, substance abuse, alcoholism and insanities.

And who can afford in this day and age to scoff at solutions to these urgent problems society faces which threaten to grow to astronomical proportions? One can only insulate oneself with wealth and security so far, when in the end if the entire social fabric of society breaks down and society has become a totally hostile environment of "us versus them" or "the haves versus the have-nots", then who will be immune to the depressing and threatening elements of a simple stroll down the street after dinner? We can only build so many prisons. How many people do we plan to execute each year? This perspective can only be justified by minds which need a remedy which has the mental delusion that they are at war: Agaricus, Belladonna, Ferrum, Hyoscyamus, Ignis, Platinum, Ranunculus, Stramonium, Thuja and Verbascum. These are, of course, the principle remedies needed when one looks upon life as a battle or a war when there is none, or will ultimately create one where none existed before. This is a very syphilitic and destructive process and healers should know both how to recognize it and how to cure it.

What is the ultimate result for our society if this trend continues? With the growing disparity in wealth and lack of medical understanding of or ability to treat the mental pathologies that lead to this chasm, will our country end up riddled with the desperately poor and sick living in ghettos en masse like many countries dominated by dictatorships, terrorism, civil war and armed juvenile gangs and militia troops ruling the streets? Do we choose to live in a society where the perception is that the only safe way to travel the streets is in an armed military vehicle? Do we want to live in societies that are becoming increasingly warlike and violent? I think the answer is a resounding "No!".

These are the four which the violent, inebriated masses are crying out for through the expression of their symptoms, yet it seems that noone can hear their cries for help because the medical establishment refuses to fully educate itself in all the healing arts and insists on the cut and drug/germ warfare theory of medicine, and very expensive, dangerous and ineffective procedures.

Most Homeopaths will even miss these remedies and give another, useless, suppressive and improper remedy when one of these four is more likely the similimum in these types of cases. And, yes, Homeopathy can be used suppressively and let's stop hearing all the drivel about it being totally safe and cannot do you any harm! Homeopathy is extremely powerful and can be dangerous only in the hands of the ignorant, impulsive or untrained practitioner. All therapies have side effects. If they have curing powers, then they also have the power to produce side effects if improperly used. They will also have the power to suppress disease manifestations. The more powerful the medicine, the greater its powers to suppress or cause side effects if used improperly. It is excusable for Allopaths new to Homeopathy to choose the wrong homeopathic remedy at first but for Homeopaths to do so... Let's get it right and set a good example and demonstrate the great healing powers of the new system of medicine, as the second centenary of the beginnings of Homeopathy approaches in 2010. If one follows the Organon, read Kents lectures and the other classical texts and abides by general homeopathic principles, success will surely follow.

Even the poorest and the craziest of individuals go to see a medical doctor at some point for some complaint in some free clinic or in an emergency room. Nearly everyone goes to a medical doctor for their medical needs in the U.S. at some point since the allopathic medical establishment has gained governmental backing and legislative, psychological and theoretical control over most medical business in developed countries and has therefore become the dominant medical system today. It is therefore the responsibility of that medical system to maintain and improve the physical as well as mental and emotional health of their patients.

Let's face it, big allopathic medical corporations are bleeding economies dry. But, of course, big money and profits are really what medicine is all about today, not healing. Medicine has become all about the bottom line and profits with little true emphasis on high quality effective care for the patients. What is the point of taking the Hippocratic Oath if one is to end up a hypocrite? If you are in medicine for money, then, get out of it. The profession of medicine is for those who have the desire and the ability to heal the sick. The healer with integrity and true dedication to the healing arts will always do what is best for the patient and not what is expected, not what is easiest or quickest, not what is more profitable or is the latest trend and certainly not what is at all harmful or risky to the patient.

When an indigent patient comes to a medical treatment facility and is attended to by a doctor for some troubling physical ailment such as a laceration or a wound after a drunken fall or a fight, that may be the only opportunity that he or she may ever have to not only treat the local ailment but to give a constitutional remedy that will help turn that person's mind and life around and their relation to society can be pushed into a positive direction. It may be the last chance that you have to prevent a homicide, suicide, rape, robbery, drug overdose or violent behavior that the person might have committed had you not given the correct homeopathic remedy and begun the process of rehabilitating that individual, affordably and holistically. The skilled Homeopath can see the mental state as well as the physical complaint and will give the remedy to mend both. Or, if the two complaints are unrelated, an allopathic remedy will suffice to mend the wound and the internal constitutional homeopathic remedy should also be given, though it has nothing to do with the wound to heal the mental wounds. The mental remedy is just as important as the wound dressing and medication. A sick mind is just as dangerous a condition to both the individual and society than a lacerated body part is to that individual which may become septic if not treated. The latter heals with simple measures in most cases, whereas the former can only be healed with the aid of a perceptive and capable practitioner, the correct remedy, a little kindness and time. Oh, yes, counseling will help and family support can help and job training is constructive, et c. but who will take the time or spend the money required to provide these support systems to a homeless, penniless indigent or even to lower middle class working families? Very few compassionate souls. But the correct homeopathic constitutional remedy given in the appropriate potency will, over time, work from within the patient and reverse the destructive cycle and he or she will gradually awaken to clearer and more rational perception, thinking and decision-making and will thereby slowly change for the better. More than one treatment will be needed in most cases in order to complete the healing process, but even one dose of the correct remedy will in most cases make a dramatic change for the better in the individual and, in turn, benefit society in many ways.

It would be wise to check for mercury poisoning by checking the teeth and asking about a dental history if there are none left in very destructive and syphilitic cases. I have seen countless hopeless individuals whole have descended to the gutter, living amidst filth and broken bottles, bereft of pride and control over their lives and I am sure that a very large number of these cases are there not only because of they have made incorrect choices but because of the hellish and destructive mercurio-syphilitic dyscrasia. Mercury and syphilis are practically the same from a homeopathic and symptomatic point of view. And a combination of the two is even worse. The end result, especially in individuals who are especially susceptible and make poor lifestyle decisions is a fall to the bottom of society (Veratrum album is frequently a helpful remedy here as are Stramonium, Hyoscyamus, China, Silicea, Nitric acid, Syphilinum, Anacardium and others).

Most of the homeless that I see on the streets are suffering from mental diseases of various kinds. They fall generally into these categories: alcoholism, drug addiction, mercury poisoning from dental amalgams, schizophrenias and psychoses of various sorts stemming from shocks, abuses and traumas, also abandoned cases of A.I.D.S. and syphilitic forms of dementia, et c. To treat these people with the correct homeopathic medicine will effectively turn them around. Using the latest treatment fad or expensive designer medication may impress people with one's being aware of the latest drug advertisements, and may make profits for the company whose sponsorship provides various perks to the practitioner but will likely do little for the patient in the long run. And funds for expensive treatments, therapy sessions and so on are becoming less available to the poor and middle classes as budget cuts hack away at expensive programs. Homeopathy is one of the most cost-effective therapies available, not only because of its ability to cure ailments, but because of its ability to treat different conditions in the patient simultaneously.

Medicine should not be concerned with profit margins or dogma but with effective treatment methods. And Homeopathy in the hands of a skilled practitioner (which, by the way, has nothing to do with having an MD or any sort of license, usually quite the opposite is true!) is both very effective and very cost-effective. The correct remedy stimulates the vital force into effective healing action on all levels. And at this point, we need all the help we can get to solve some of these disgraceful medical problems in our country today, and indeed in most of the "industrialized world" and help to heal the rifts and chasms in society that threaten to cause unending misery and increasing destruction.
